Of all the concrete around a home, a pool deck is one of the worst places to have uneven, sunken slabs. It's where people walk barefoot and often wet, so a lifted edge or a dropped slab is a real fall risk, not just a cosmetic flaw. And replacing pool-deck concrete is especially painful — it means demolition and heavy equipment maneuvering around the pool, the coping, and the equipment. Foam injection leveling avoids all of that. We inject lightweight polyurethane through small ports in the settled slab, filling the void beneath and raising the concrete back to level, so the deck is safe and even again without a single slab being torn out. The pool stays full, the coping stays put, and the job is usually done in hours.

Pool decks face a double dose of what makes Houston concrete move. First, the region's expansive clay soil is already in constant motion, swelling and shrinking as it wets and dries. Second, a pool deck lives in a uniquely wet environment — splash-out, backwash discharge, rain runoff, and irrigation keep the soil at the deck's edges cycling wet-to-dry far more than the soil under an ordinary patio. That accelerates washout and settlement under the slab, which is why pool decks so often develop the tell-tale drop and pitch, frequently tilting toward the house foundation or back into the pool. Because foam is waterproof and won't wash away, it's especially well suited to this wet setting — it fills and lifts, then stays put in exactly the conditions that made mudjacking's cement slurry a poorer long-term choice around water.

Polyurethane foam is waterproof, so it won't erode in the constant wet environment around a pool, and it's lightweight so it won't overload already-settled soil. It cures fast and uses small injection holes that are easy to blend into the deck.
